Hackney shooting: Three charged after woman suffers life-changing injuries

hree men have been charged after a woman suffered life-changing injuries in a shooting in east London.

The victim, 32, was found injured in Westgate Street, Hackney, on the night of November 22 last year.

She was taken to hospital, where months later she is continuing to receive treatment.

Akile Lee-Walton, 23, of Pemberton Road, was charged with attempted murder and grievous bodily harm with intent in connection to the incident.

He was also charged with conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

The suspect is due to appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Reuel Briscoe, 28, of HMP Belmarsh, was charged with conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

He is due to appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

Jeremiah Briscoe, 24, of HMP Thameside, was charged with conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

He is also due to appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 15 April.

On Tuesday, officers carried out warrants at two addresses in Hackney and one address in Tottenham.

Three men, aged between 20 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

They have been bailed to return to a north London police station in May.

A further three people were previously arrested as part of the investigation and later released under investigation while enquiries continue.
