THANE: A three-feet-long rat snake was spotted in the kitchen of a residential flat in a Wagle Estate housing society, Saturday morning.
According to Santosh Kadam of the regional disaster management cell, the family staying at Krishna Vandna building in D’souza Wadi, spotted the snake in the kitchen and alerted them.
Civic officials contacted a few local animal activists who also reached the spot and rescued the snake.
Activists said that rat snakes are agile and non-venomous and prey majorly on rodents.
However, it was not known how the snake had slithered up four floors.
